Hours and Events
How many hours and events do I need each semester?
You will need 16 hours and 4 events each semester.
Meetings
When/where are meetings?
Meetings occur on the third Thursday of each month at 2:10 in the auditorium.
How do I join the NHS Microsoft Team?
If you do not have access to the Team, contact the officers or Ms. Copley.
Are meetings mandatory?
Yes. You are required to attend each monthly meeting. There are consequences if you miss more than 2 meetings a semester without following up with Ms. Copley personally.
What do I do if I have to miss a meeting?
Email Ms. Copley and the officers and explain why you must miss the meeting. If it is due to a class or work conflict, attach an image of your class/work schedule. No matter what the conflict is, attach proof if possible (doctor’s note, practice/game schedule, or something similar).

How do I apply to NHS?
The Sandalwood NHS application process occurs at the beginning of the school year each year. There will be two interest meetings this year. One on August 17th, 2023 and one on August 24th, 2023 at 2:10 in the auditorium.
How do I get into NHS if I transferred in during the middle of the year?
If you were part of an NHS chapter at your old school, contact Ms. Copley at copleys@duvalschools.org and provide proof of your membership (e.g. induction certificate or something similar). If you were not, look out for more information at the beginning of the next school year.
Where do the officers send out announcements and other information?
The officers’ main method of communication this year will be Teams, Instagram (@sandalwoodnhs), and the website.
How do I contact the officers?
Reach out to the officers via Instagram or email! We will respond as soon as we can.
How much are dues? What are they used for?
Dues are $30. They pay for T-shirts, induction, and senior events, among other things. If you are unable to pay dues, contact Ms. Copley.
